Sooooo, I did it!! I beat the evil fryer and its band of delicious salty temptations. You couldn't believe how difficult it was. Not only was I constantly being offered fried foods all evening, when youre around food period, trying to resist the urge to eat is rather like sitting there having your nails pulled off one by kne.A bit graphic perhaps, definitely a dramatic interpretation, but hey...its me we're talking about here.
Anywho, to add to the growing difficulty of this evening's battle, I happened to have drank an energy drink which, as many of you probably don't know, gives me the hardcore shakes and jitters due to the excess sugar and caffeine in my system. Kind of like getting high for a junkie. However, with mine, utcan sometimes make it impossible to operate as my hands appear like an addicts who's going through withdrawals.
So why, might you ask, do I continue to drink these drinks if the cause such reactions???? Good question. Several answers come to mind: 1)They taste amazing, 2) they do give me a slight energy boost or 3) I'm just stupid and like looking like I need a fix. No matter what reason (my bet is on one or three :-p) the only way to make it stop is to eat something heavy or starchy like bread, popcorn, or fried foods to soak up the caffeine/sugar in my stomach.
As I sat there shaking and barely able to hold a pen, I had several well intentioned people continually offering and trying to make me eat something. As much as I wanted to, I resisted. The only slightly evil intake of the evening was shortbread cookies that one of my males made me eat. Seeing as I cant resist Dimples, it was my only bad mistep.
All in all, this battle was won, despite the uphill fight I had to endure against the hoards of mozzarella sticks, delicious chicken tenders, and oh so yummy curly fries. I have just one message to the devious fryer that has made it its life mission to sabotage me....Suck it! Taste the Defeat!!!!!
A blog to go along with all the other blogs just to make their alternate blogs mad as they are forced to share space with me :-)

Day two...feels like a hundred
Well, I made it to the gym for the second day in a row. You can't imagine how hard it was to roll out of bed this morning. I feel like I went up against Muhammad Ali and lost big time. maybe going for a 3K run last night after not having worked out for a few weeks was not the best idea....
However, at least I have now a starting point and despite the tendeness, I powered through it today. COuldnt manage to make myself complete another 3K two days in a row so I did the program 'Yellow Brick Row" Now I know what youre thinking, lots of hills...OH MY GOD YES!!!!
I love watching the treadmill move itself automatically up and down as I'm walking/running. I know; I'm a dork. But, the damn thing wouldn't stop moving today. All I could seem to think of was How the Grinch Stole Christmas and how he says "All the noise, noise noise" and change it to "All these hills, hills, hills". Oh soooooo many hills.
But in the end, I triumphed. Only two miles today, but a majority of it was up and down hills. I increased my speed today to 4.2 while walking and ran at 5.5 for awhile. No reps at all cause truth be told, by the end of the run, I was exhausted. Weird since, last night I took a dose of NyQuil on top of my 3K run and it knocked me out like a light bulb for over 12 hours.
Anywho....so now the days begins. At least it has started on a good note, as I feel a little leaner, not necessarily meaner, but ready to take on the challenges of today which include the evil mozzarella sticks that worm their way into my hand somehow every time I'm at work. Wish me luck as I battle the dreaded fryer and its band of fried minions...

Actual day 1 post :-)
So yes, i know I just posted pratcically less than five minutes ago, but I finished my first workout and had to say something about. Not just to brag that I ran a 5K, but to keep my mind off the chips that are sitting on the counter right now trying to seduce me with their salty goodness.
Back to the workout....So FINALLY, my apratment complex got rid of the crusty old, electronically impaired treadmill we used to have and upgraded to a brand new machine that ACTUALLY WORKS!!! Its a miracle!!!!! Not only did it start when i stepped on, but it has its own incline function and you can actual rad and program the screen to your specifications!! Imagine that....
Beyond my amazement at the workings of this machine, I decided, "Hey, why not run the 5K and see how you do?" Well.....about an hour after, I can definitely feel how I am doing. Aches are starting to appear and despite the cool down, a little stiff now, but totally worth it. Just the kind of pain i want to motivate my butt to get in shape. After all, what kind of cowboy wants a horse on top of their horse? hahahahahahahaha (inside joke that many of you probably wont get, but it makes me laugh :-))
I kept the jog up at a consistent rate of 3.7m/h. Dont know if thats good or not, but hey, its a starting point for me. Ran for over a half and hour and cooled down for five minutes. The weird thing is, I used to joke that I sweat like a man cause after every workout, no matter how strenuous, I would be drenched in sweat. Today, I glistened, but was not dripping. Maybe a little too descriptive or gross, but hey.....SUCK IT UP :-) This is my blog!!!
Anywho, to throw in a little arm action as that is the second area i want to work on, I put in 25 reps of bench presses at 60lbs. Should feel that by tomorrow as well.....Good thing is, despite the fact that I was too lazy to fill up a bottle of water to take with me and grabbed by Liption Citru Tea instead, it has no calories, as its diet, so i didnt gain back any of the 252 calories I lost from running!!!!!
And so, because I now and a little tired and probably should take a muscle relaxer bee my muscles seize up completely, off to the bath I go for a good salad, a good book, and MW3 to ease the stress. A good killing always takes the pain away :-) :-) ;-)
Until tomorrow.....stay healthy or keep trying

Today is a new day...(or so they keep saying)
So from the start, despite the fact that I deleted those posts and decided to take my blog a new direction, I have been obsessed with my physical appearance. I mean who isn't, right? The difference with me is the fact that a little over a year ago, I weighed over a hundred pounds more than I currently do today....
An Accomplishment some would say, however, my perfectionist libra intensified outlook on life has deemed my physical appearance unacceptable. Now, I havent turned bulimic or anaorexic just in case youre wondering. I simply eat less aaaaaaaand with the help of some surgery, intake a little less as well. Not necessarily a cop-out or fialure as I have begun to realize as it has been a rocky road trying to maintain and learning what not to eat and how to control my eating habits, but still....cant seem to get to where I want to be.
I realize that because I am German and come from a rather largely built family, that my chances of being supermodel slim are very little. and I'm cool with that. Really, i am. i would never want to be that skinny to begin with. However, being toned enough that people dont confuse me for the tire sale (Buy 1 get 3 Free!!!!!) would be nice.\
Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, today, I made the decision to get off my rather large butt and do something about it. Several comments, made not in spite, but hopefully jest, have been made to me at work concerning the size of my calves and my legs as well as my butt. Kind of motivates one to do something about it.
So here starts Day 1 of my fitness blog and a technological diary of how I am doing and the progress I hope to make. With any luck, seeing and having to write down, the days events as well as intake of foods may help and hinder any mishaps along the way so that by summer.........
